Sometimes a photographer just needs to get out and shoot for the fun of it. This shot wasn’t for anything in particular, I was just hanging out with a photographer friend and we were explorer different vantage points in and around the city. This was shot from Magnolia looking south across the bay.

Fishing Pier Sunset

One of the most striking landmarks in Des Moines, WA is their long fishing pier that stretches out into Puget Sound. I always take time to photograph it when I’m shooting photos down in the marina. The opportunity to silhouette it against a beautiful setting sun and dramatic sky is one I couldn’t pass up!

Living in Seattle, I get a lot of opportunities to shoot water, especially rain! Fortunately I don’t have to go any further than my own yard to capture beautiful images of droplets and nature.

Intensity

An example of the intense orange sunsets caused by particulates in the air from wildfires. It’s really amazing how something half a state away can visibly affect our atmosphere. Makes you think, while you’re enjoying the beauty it causes.

We’ve had intense sunsets recently due to particulates in the air from wild fires in Canada and Eastern Washington. While I cringe to think about the damage done by the fires, I have to admit I do like the visual side effects.

Seahurst Silhouette

I shot this during a recent visit to Seahurst Park in Burien, WA. I was setting up to shoot the sunset when this women and small child quietly drifted by on their paddle board. I couldn’t resist taking their photo.
